easyJet opens new head office at Luton Airport
On the 26th February, Low-cost airline easyJet opened new head offices at Luton Airport. Four of easyJet’s longest serving staff members cut officially opened the airline’s new home, known as Hanger 89.
The building was built in 1974 and was the former base of Britannia / TUI at the airport. It has undergone a £3.1 million refurbishment to fit the easyJet culture and principles.
Hangar 89 has been painted in the airlines corporate colour, with an open plan interior to reflect the airline’s ‘less is more’ approach. As well as over 30,000 sq ft of office space, it can also house three Airbus 319s / Boeing 737s, giving the airline extra hangar space at Luton Airport.
The new home is just 150 metres from its current office, easyLand. Management and admin staff from the low-fares airline will gradually make the move to the news offices over the coming week.
The merger of the premises will mean savings to the business, which ultimately will be passed on to the consumer, the airline said in a statement.
