Advanced Notification Of M1 Closures Affecting Travel To/From London Luton Airport
Please note the following FULL closures to the M1 in both directions between M1 Junction 8 and Junction 9 on the following dates:
- 2100hrs Saturday 9th June to 0900hrs Sunday 10th June 2007
- 2100hrs Saturday 16th June to 0900hrs Sunday 17th June 2007
- 2100hrs Saturday 23rd June to 0900hrs Sunday 24th June 2007
Diversions for all Southbound M1 traffic will be from Junction 9 along A5183, B487, A414 and rejoin at M1 Junction 8.
Diversions for all Northbound traffic will be from Junction 8 along A414, B487, A5183 and rejoin at M1 Junction 9.
These closures are required to allow demolition of three existing bridges.
EAST LUTON CORRIDOR
The following works are also scheduled to take place
- Monday 21st May for approx 10 nights between 2100-0400; night time surfacing works on
Airport Way, Percival Way and Spittlesea Road as part of the new roundabout construction using lane restrictions, stop and go boards and temporary traffic lights. - Saturday 2nd/3rd June - A505 Airport Way closed in both directions 6.30am-6.30pm, from Gypsy Lane roundabout to Vauxhall Way/Kimpton Road junction. Regular diversion will be in place.
- Saturday 9th/10th June - A505 Airport Way closed in both directions 6.30am-6.30pm, from Gypsy Lane roundabout to Vauxhall Way/Kimpton Road junction. Regular diversion will be in place.
- Saturday 16th /17th June - A505 Airport Way closed in both directions 6.30am-6.30pm, from Gypsy Lane roundabout to Vauxhall Way/Kimpton Road junction. Regular diversion will be in place - this closure is currently being reviewed due to the potential overlap with M1 works.
